Structure N10-43 was called Lag by Dr. David Pendergast
& his associates, and High Temple by visitors to the
Lamanai Archaeological Reserve. I also found it refered
to as "El Castillo".
Some consolidation work had been done on this massive
structure by Pendergast & his associates in the early
1980's. In the pictures for 2001 you can see the latest
consolidation work done under the "Tourism Development
N10-43 is the largest known Preclassic structure
in all of the Mayan world, 33 m tall. We now know that,
while the final major modification to the front
of N10-43 took place in Late Classic times,
the bulk of the construction is Pre-Classic.
